FAQ
Resolving Issues With Updated Bank Logo
From time to time, banks revise their logos to reflect a new image, promote new marketing strategies, or communicate a merger or buyout. Safeguard is committed to supporting banks in their effort to present their new images on their printed products. Revising a bank logo is a simple task, but there are circumstances in which the process becomes complicated to handle automatically, thereby causing errors and inefficiencies.
When revisions entail a change in artwork as well as a change in layout and specifications, we need to give special attention to orders that require the revised logo. Most of the manual handling will be done on our end, but there are times in which the distributor will be required to take action in order to prevent errors.
Q
How will distributors know that a revised bank logo requires special attention?
A
Any revised bank logo that requires the distributor’s attention will be communicated via CMS message.
Q
Why do we assign new bank logo ID numbers?
A
When we are faced with changes beyond artwork, we change the bank logo ID number so we can pay attention to orders that require special attention. We also assign new bank logo ID numbers when the updated logo is for specific branches only. In this situation, we keep the original bank logo and its ID number for use with the remaining branches.
Q
How will I know what the updated logo will look like when printed?
A
Before the updated logo is added into the system, a PDF proof will be sent to the distributor indicating the logo and imprint text positions. An approval from the bank will be required before the revised bank logo is added to the system.
Q
What does a distributor need to do?
A
Repeat orders using revised bank logos with issues may need to be submitted as a Repeat with Change. (The bank logo will be assigned a new ID#.)
Q
How will a distributor know which order to submit as repeat with change?
A
  1. We will communicate all bank logo updates to all distributors.

  2. On our communication to distributors, we will provide instructions on how to
submit orders with the specific revised bank logo.
Q
How do we plan to communicate that a bank logo has been updated?
A
  1. By sending a CMS message to all distributors.

  2. Updating the bank website with in 24 hours after the revision is completed.
Q
When will we update a bank logo?
A
We are aware that, in the past, we have accommodated new bank logos and updates without written authorization from the bank. We can no longer continue the same practice for legal reasons. We now require written approval from the bank to add a new logo or revise an existing logo to our system. Orders requiring the new bank logo will not be processed until the approval is received in writing by Safeguard. Timing will depend on bank responsiveness.
Q
Where do we send our request to add and/or update bank logos?
A
  1. We would like you to forward your requests to add or update bank logos to our Lansdale facility. The email is:  mscartwork@gosafeguard.com
  2. Or you can submit your Add/Update request online
